The works of 'Lysets Landskab' (which loosely translates to Landscape of Lights) came to be through ordinary experiences, from walks i have taken in my daily life. I live on a farm, near fields, the woods and a lake. Here most of my motifs are taken from. The shifting lights of the seasons became an engine for the exhibition, as did the exploration of different manifestations of light.

The seven prints are monotypes. A technique where you paint directly on the printing plate. It is a technique I am very fond of as, it to me, approaches an aesthetic akin to early photography, and seemed like an ideal way to represent the natural light in the exhibition.

The light in the works go through different manifestations, some come across as more harsh and direct, while others seem soft, diffused and almost foggy to me.

The prints in the exhibtion are somewhat simplistic in their expression. I went with this approach, as I wanted to reduce the landscape to abstracts, where only the natural light made it through. Some border more recognizable motifs, where others are maybe more unidentifiable.
